Fall registration now taking place at our Music Divison in Minato Village!
You may not know it, but The Arts Connection began as an in-home music
school. Our school director, Linda Shirley, found herself with a parade
of children streaming in and out of her home in the late 1980s. One day
she finally realized she'd reached the limit to how much she could
offer in her home, and, in 1990, The Arts Connection located in
Richmond area of Vancouver's lower mainland, was born. Linda has made
her name through teaching piano for the last 35 years, and is proud to
offer an exceptional music program of little compare.
Thanks to the wide curriculum offered through the Arts Connection, from our Paddington Station preschools and child care straight through to our esteemed dance, performing arts, and visual arts programs, we understand how to teach everyone from toddlers
through to adults. That's why we're so proud to offer music classes
that range all the way from our hotly sought-after Baby's First Music
and Music Combo classes for babies and toddlers all the way up to
accredited Royal Conservatory of Music programs for students of all ages.
In her three-plus decades of teaching little ones, Linda Shirley has
been exposed to nearly every child-focused teaching method there is,
and her sound judgment is that there is no better method than The Kelly
Kirby Introductory Piano program. Naturally, with our high standards
and our passion for doing the best we can for our students, that's why
we offer this program for little people aged four through eight.
We strongly encourage you to find the time to introduce your
child to music at an early age. You don't have to listen to us, though,
because it's all been said before by researchers who attest that music
instruction for young children consistently results in:
Improved concentration & success at school
Self-discipline that is necessary for any type of success
Positive performance experiences that build self-confidence
As a result of our strong track record of teaching quality music
programs to our students, we're able to attract the best of teachers
and instructors to our school. After all, if you're going to be paying
your hard-earned money to educate your children or yourself to play an
instrument, don't you want the best instruction your money can buy? Of
course you do, and we have to agree. But just because we proudly offer
the best doesn't mean we charge the most. We're happy to offer you an
esteemed selection of teachers at reasonable rates in Richmond's
foremost teaching facility. Don't just take our word for it, though.
Have a look at our music faculty page and see for yourself.
All our music classes take place in our gorgeous new studios at Minato
Village (#160 - 3900 Steveston Highway, at the corner of No. 1 Road
& Steveston Hwy, phone 604-241-3145). The Music School offers 2200
square feet of beautiful space entirely dedicated to music instruction.
There are five spacious, sound-proof private studios and a
multi-purpose space in this air-conditioned facility, along with a
wonderful waiting area for parents and students.
And if all that isn't reason enough for you to come to The Arts
Connection for your musical schooling, perhaps it might help to know
that The Richmond Chamber of Commerce and The City of Richmond have
bestowed upon us their "Award of Excellence". After all, quality sells
itself, and we ought to know.
